Mavris Arts & Event Center

This was the absolute PERFECT venue!!! My guests loved it. It is a little pricey, but absolutely worth every penny. I can't believe the number of people who told me mine was the best wedding they'd ever been to. Vanessa was an absolute pleasure to work with.

Great venue! Was very happy with everything. Their prices are a bit high, but in the end, I felt it was worth it.

From day one the staff at Mavris was extremely professional and welcoming. As soon as we saw the venue, we knew we had to have our reception there. All of our guests commented on how unique and lovely the hall was. It is seriously unlike anything you have ever seen. Have your wedding at Mavris and yours will stand out among all of the cliche hotel ballroom receptions. We loved that it was a one-stop shop for tables, chairs, linens, and catering. Amanda was our coordinator, and she was just amazing. It was her organization that made our cocktail hour and reception seamless. We were able to relax and actually enjoy dinner and dancing. Oh, one of my favs is that Mavris staff will load your gifts into a vehicle for you, so your wedding party/family doesn't have to do that after the party ends. It's little touches like that which really make the day even more enjoyable. My husband and I got ready there and LOVED the separate bridal suite/man cave areas to prep for the big day. Thank you to everyone at Mavris for making our big day so easy and beautiful!

AMAZING! BEAUTIFUL! PERFECT! The Mavirs is such a unique venue for a wedding...it was like no other wedding we've ever been to. The staff was amazing to work with! They helped plan our entire day and everything went so smoothly. The food was amazing too! I would highly recommend the Mavris to anyone who wants a unique downtown venue.

I had my wedding about 3 weeks ago and I would recommend Mavris to absolutely anyone! We had the most amazing time & a perfect wedding coordinator, Amanda. Everything was right on schedule, she ran around for us, & everyone was incredibly helpful. We had looked at other venues, but from the moment I walked into Mavris, nothign else compared. It is expensive, but worth every penny. My husband and I wouldn't change one thing!! Seriously, just take one look at the place and you'll fall in love :).

Mavris had a HUGE part in making my wedding day the best day of my life. I was stress free and surrounded by beauty :) The wedding coordinator was heaven sent. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is great, with a big parking lot just a tiny walk away. The venue is unbelievably beautiful. My husband and I love a mix of modern and rustic and that's just what Mavris offered. The exposed brick and wood floors gave a rustic feel while the fixtures and upgrades gave a totally new look. The food was excellent (we'd request the pecan crusted mahi mahi for sure). The only possible way I could be more happy with my experience with Mavris is if it had been less expensive. However, it was totally worth the money!!! We received numerous compliments on the venue and in fact, the owner was there helping run the night smoothly, so I pointed people in his direction to hear the story of the event center and how it became what it is today. We love Mavris and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I held our reception here for our October 2010 wedding. I can only review on the actual site - when we signed our contract that were not requiring that you use their in house catering. The building and space is beautiful, and one of the more unique venues that you'll be able to find in downtown Indy. Jon Mavris is amazing, and he actually personally drove the shuttle to transport our guests from The Mavris to the parking lot (1 small downside - the parking is not right by the building, but they do offer a shuttle which was great) We had a small handful of rowdy guests, and Jon took them in stride and was very accommodating and understanding. The planner we started with wasn't there when it came time for our actual wedding. That was 1 downside - I felt like some of the day of people we worked with could have been a little nicer. I know that they are working what for them is just another wedding, but it's a once in a lifetime event for us that we've spent a lot of time and money planning. They were nice enough - but some of them put off the vibe that they didn't want to be there and had better things to do. All in all, I would recommend The Mavris. Beautiful building, great owner, and our reception was 1 rockin' party with...

I had my wedding at the Mavris this past August. There were 4 interruptions during the ceremony. 2 trains, and 2 helicopters, and we had to stop every time, making our 20 minute ceremony almost an hour. I was in tears by the end of it. Not to mention our coordinator Vanessa did not have our information organized by the final wrap-up meeting and couldn't even give us our final amount that we owed. We weren't able to have our rehearsal dinner there because they double booked us, and they also removed the option of having an after-party, which was one of the selling points for us. I was very disappointed. Sidenote- don't let John Mavris fool you. He is incredibly charming when you first meet him but once he books you, he couldn't care less about you. The place is absolutely beautiful, and we ended up having a great time at the reception. But for all of the things that went wrong and for how incredibly expensive it was, it was not at all worth it.

My husband is a catering manager here in Indy. He has worked at the Mavris center before and it was HIS decision that this was where he wanted to be married. I went with him to check it out and fell in love. We didn't even look at any other venues. Granted, the fee IS a little steep - but it is totally worth it. All of our guests have complimented us so much on the venue. They all thought it was one of the most gorgeous places ever. And I agree. Kaitlin was our coordinator and she was great. Always there when I had questions. I also love that, being downtown, the guests had a parking lot (just north of the building) and didn't have to pay for parking. There's so much I could say about the Mavris center and yet it leaves me speechless. We planned for two years and it was all worth it when I had the most incredible wedding ever, thanks in part to Mavris.

The Mavris was a fully inclusive experience. We did not have to do one single thing. Everything from the decoration details to the transportation, food, beverages, DJ, cake, etc. were all taken care of and wonderful! It was by far the best experience we could have ask for!

The Mavris was an amazing venue for our wedding. They did EVERYTHING they could to make our day special and memorable. I would highly recommend using them for your wedding!!

John and his team did a spectacular job. Very customer focused.

From the moment we saw this facility we were in love. It was beautiful! Just the environment alone captured our guests attention immediately. We barely had to decorate because it was already gorgeous. It was wonderful having both the ceremony and reception in the same building but different floors. We were also able to have an after party on the third floor to allow a more intimate environment for our guests who wanted to hang out for a little while longer. We had so much fun. There were no worries the day of the event because our Event corrdinator hired from Mavris for the day of the wedding did such a great job. She had everything set up and ready to go and helped out with anything we needed the entire day. We were also able to call her anytime leading up to the wedding to ask random questions. She definately made our day and the renting of Mavris worthwhile! We had an awesome time! We have had wonderful reviews about our wedding being the best that some have ever gone too! Our guests loved the entire thing and so did we! We just wish it was a little less expensive due to two students paying for it, but we are glad we didn't settle for anything less! We also recommend having a Friday wedding! It was a little cheaper for this vendor and our guests loved that they still had saturday and sunday left of their weekend! Although some spent those days recovering from the good time they had at the wedding!!

The Mavris is truly the most beautiful and unique venue in Indianapolis. The site fee is quite expensive but there are a variety of caterers on the approved vendor list and several are very reasonable. We went with Mills Catering and the food was fantastic for half the price of the bigger names in town. Mavris handles all the rentals, set up and take down. And the in house coordinator, Amanda is very good to work with. Overall we would definately recommend the Mavris!

Amanda helped us coordinate our wedding at Mavris. The Mavris was the perfect place for our wedding reception. The atmosphere there is ideal for a classy and contemporary wedding.

Overall, this was a great reception site. Granted that it is a bit more expensive, but I feel that it was worth the money. The site offers a ceremony location, reception location, and a gardens area. It really was a wonderful reception site!

The Mavirs is a beautiful venue. We held both the ceremony and reception here. John and his coordinaters made everything so easy for us. They provide all the rentals; chairs, tables, linens, decorations, etc. for very affordable prices. I couldn't imagine a more beautiful setting, see their website for pictures. Gorgeous hardwood, candles everywhere and an amazing view of the city.

This is an absolutely beautiful Venue. I loved it and had to have it! If you love lofts this is the venue for you. John Mavris is absolutely amazing! I LOVE him dearly. He was so good to me and so helpful. He's very creative and can think outside the box.
