Honestly, the ladies at the Perfect Stitch were very nice. However, they did take my dress in way too much at the top. They also messed up my hemline, but they did fix it overnight, which I appreciated. They left loose threads at the top of my dress, and it was really just shoddily done for the $400 I paid them. Luckily, two of my bridesmaids were able to move the hook over the night before my wedding and I still have all of my ribs.

I found The Perfect Stitch here on weddingwire. I came in later than recommended to get alterations thinking I needed one simple thing done to my dress. Well I hadn't tried my dress on in a year so I needed more than I thought. However, they never pressured me into any alterations. Suggestions were made and I agreed. The place is very quaint and welcoming. They altered my dress on time and it looked awesome. At my final fitting we "played" around in my dress taking lots of fun pictures. It was a good time. I will take my dress back for cleaning and preservation.

My alterations were very well done by the Perfect Stitch. Mine were more costly due to the fabric of my dress, but they turned out beautifully. I did have to travel for several fittings that I wish could have been condensed, but the end product was worth it.

I really did love working with The Perfect Stitch. They were extremely nice and very detail and they very hard. I thought they were a bit pricey for some of the services I wanted but I could have done WAY worse. They do really really good work and I hope that I can find a reason to work with them in the future!

Pros: I was very impressed with the Perfect Stitch. The shop itself was so comforting and welcoming. The ladies, Melissa and Susan, were wonderful. They were funny and pleasant---made this part of the process a lot easier for me. As for the prices, I had never had anything altered before and before I found them, I compared prices with others and was very happy with what I paid for what I got. She built in an undergarment so I wouldn’t have so many layers. She added the bustle, some extra for my girls, pressed the veil and dress for a reasonable price. I don’t want to list what I paid mainly because every dress is different so it might not be what I paid. I was in when another bride was finishing up. Melissa was helping the bride recreate her grandmother’s and mother’s dress to be her own. All three women were there and it looked wonderful.Cons: Like Sweet Tooth (baker), I really don’t have any cons. They were down to earth, affordable, quirky---everything I appreciated for one of the most stressful times and that’s making the dress was beautiful.

I brought my bought somewhere else wedding dress to this seamstress. The women at this place are great. They are so friendly and helpful. I had bought a designer dress in a size 12 off the rack (because it was A LOT cheaper) I'm a size 3 in dresses. I took my wedding dress to the Perfect stitch and they did a great job sizing down my dress. I had many layers and a ton of bead work, so it wouldn't have been an easy task. Since the dress had been tried on by many brides they also cleaned the dress and added criddlen and a bra to the dress. Having to wear less layers is cooler and breezer than having to wear more layers under a large dress. All I would say would be to call and confirm your schedule time. We did have a mix up twice with the time I was to be there for fittings. I can't say that it was their fault, I could have been wrong. But I had put the times in my phone as I book my next appointments in person. But who knowsI live in Georgia and had the wedding here, but bought my dress in Indiana, I'll even send my dress back to Indiana to be cleaned by them because I know their work is good and I trust them.

5 STARS!!!!!!!!!!! This shop was the only place I went where I was given undivided attention, there weren't hoards of appointments booked at the same time and they have a HUGE selection of dresses for a great price! I found the dress of my dreams there and I love it! forget going to the other shops around the area! 5 STARS!

I had my heart set on a custom dress for my wedding. The perfect stitch seem to afford quality dresses at affordable prices. Sadly, my wedding dress ended up being my biggest regret.I contact TPS about five months prior to my wedding and asked if they could make a dress for me. I sent sketches and pictures of what I wanted and was told it wouldn't be a problem. At my first consultation my measurements were taken and Melissa also offered to make me a custom corset "with the same lace material as my dress" it was going to cost $125 but she promised it would be an heirloom. My wedding dress was suppose to be around $600 after two "consultations" I finally saw an outline of the dress (cotton mock, not the real thing) and realized it wasn't the right form. In order to change it to what I originally wanted she charged me an additional $250. I paid because it was a month away from the wedding and I was still hopeful that the dress would look beautiful. Two weeks before the wedding I still hadn't even tried on the actual dress. The day before the wedding I finally got to try on the dress BUT there were still alterations that needed to be made. That's right--I didn't get my wedding dress until the DAY of my wedding. She also had her assistant call to complain that I had "waited too long" to pay my final $125 (even though the dress wasn't even near finished). She made snide comments at my mother because she didn't start to cry when I tried on the dress (probably b/c it looked BAD and my mom was pissed). Finally, on the day of my wedding I went to get my dress. I did a final fitting w/the corset she had made...the corset was too big. She tried to pin it up so that it would fit that day but it provided NO support. It was basically as if I was braless. And the promise that it would be the same lace as my dress was not true. She used completely different material. And to top it off, the "hooks" she used were just thread so no surprised it broke before I even got to the venue and was able to wear it, it was basically useless. The dress itself looked like cheap lace, it was rough and looked horrible. I was embarrassed to wear it but had no other options. It's taken me over a year to write this because it makes me sick to my stomach to think about how horrible I looked and felt. Additionally, Melissa was very condescending and plain unprofessional. If I could change anything about my wedding experience it would be the dress. Truly, I would have been happier finding a dress at any other store. AND this wasn't a you get what you pay for situation--I spent almost $1000 on this attire and that is poor quality that I received.PLEASE if you must have a custom gown--go somewhere else! And have an airtight contract of services and a plan B.
